Why is Simon Cowell So Excited about The X Factor?

Cause it’s nasty! {say with a devilish grin} … but not in a dirty kinda way of course. Rumors have been flying that American Idol‘s favorite judge, Simon Cowell, is leaving the hit show and not coming back. Well…it’s true. Simon Cowell is leaving American Idol for a show called The X Factor. The X Factor is a singing reality competition, launched by non other than Simon Cowell in Britain in 2004. What’s the difference you ask? Well, while Idol only accepts contenders between the ages of 16-28, X Factor puts no limits on age. The show is said to be more real, more dramatic and the judges will even mentor the contestants. The X Factor discovered Leona Lewis on the show’s third season, so the potential in the U.S. is endless.

The X Factor will be premiering on FOX (Yes, the network is very happy that Simon is not leaving them) in the Fall of 2011 and rumors of Paula Abdul joining her main man are already surfacing on the internet. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
