One More Night is the very latest single from American pop group Maroon 5, released June 19th, 2012, from their upcoming fourth studio album, Overexposed. In the video, Maroon 5′s lead singer (and The Voice coach), Adam Levine, plays a guy trying to support his girlfriend, played by actress Minka Kelly, and their baby, with his boxing career. Here’s where it gets confusing though, I was under the impression that he singing One More Night to her, as in he’ll only stay with her one more time, but at the end of the video, Minka is the one packing her bags and leaving Adam Levine while he’s out winning the fight.
“I play a heartbreaker, I guess,” Minka Kelly revealed in a webchat on MTV.com. “I do very bad things… but necessary.” John Mitchell of MTV News commented on the video, which cleared a few things up for me personally, “The clip could be looked at as a metaphor for the difficulties Levine faces balancing his professional life as a world-famous singer and TV star and a personal life with the same wants (happy relationship, a family) as everyone else. Perhaps the video is a lingering response to his recent breakup from model Anne Vyalitsyna.“ So I guess they were staying together just for the baby even though they know they are not compatible, both trying to give each other One More Night.
