Doo Wop the 10th single to debut at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and it stayed there for two weeks in the fall of 1998. The hit song also won two Grammy Awards the following February.
The reason I really love this video is because of the unique display of differences and similarities it shows between the 90′s and the 60′s, from dance moves to clothes. The video is a split screen of a block party going on in these two interesting eras and is all about Lauren Hill warning the men and women, about the struggles of being men and women in both generations. Doo Wop (That Thing was filmed in Washington Heights, Manhattan in the mid 90′s and shows Lauren Hill six months pregnant.
