Alone was originally composed by Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly and was given to Heart who released the single in 1987 as part of their ninth studio album Bad Animals. Heart made it a hit song to be remembered for decades to come. Even though the vocals for the song were sung by Heart’s lead singer Ann Wilson, Tom Kelly, one of the original composers of the song, sung high harmony parts on the record.
Alone became Heart’s biggest hit and made onto the Australian, Norwegian, Swiss and UK singles charts as well as on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 at #1. Celine Dion recorded her own version of the song as part of her 2007 album Taking Chances and had it produced by Ben Moody, an ex-member of the American Rock band Evanescence.
