According to TooFab.com and Sasha Rose from the Hands Paws Hearts dog rescue in Lancaster, CA, who rescued Driver from the Downey Animal Shelter, before Josh could take him home, the pup, who is already missing a few toes, had to undergo surgery to repair a broken femur.

According to IAR (International Animal Rescue) the Indonesian rainforest is slowly being taken over by palm oil production (along with wood and paper), which is killing off the habitat of the orangutan by destroying the forest in order to make more room to grow the crop. Palm oil company PT KAL (Kayung Agro Lestari) has already chased away a large number of orangutans that have fled from the new palm oil plantation.

Last November, the Wall Street Journal reported that two toy poodles, Karin and Fuga, successfully passed the police dog exam and commissioned as police search and rescue dogs in the Tottori Prefecture, joining many other small dogs like chihuahuas and schnauzers who are already a part of search and rescue department across Japan. The Bronx Zoo has released in a statement that the newest addition to their wildlife family, a newborn female Baringo giraffe, will make its public debut in the zoo’s “African Plains” area next week. Now, the Zimbabwean government  is taking an interest on whether the hunting trip was even legal. The independent Zimbabwe Conservation Task Force says that the 2011 hunting trip organized by a South African safari firm was not actually registered in Zimbabwe.

Pusuke was a Shiba Inu mix from Japan, who lived for 26 years and 9 months or somewhere around 185 in “human years”, he was born in April of 1985. After certifying for the Guinness World Record title for the oldest dog last December, Pusuke sadly passed away on December 5th in Sakura, Japan.
