Russell Crowe To Reprise The Biblical Role of Noah in 2014

Several versions of the epic biblical story of Noah and and his boat have surfaced in past years, like Evan Almighty with Steve Carell, Morgan Freeman, Wanda Sykes and Lauren Graham, which was a comedy, but when you put a serious actor the likes of Russell Crow in a movie like this, it’s bound to be huge. Noah is not scheduled to start shooting until July, though it is already set to come out March 28th, 2014.

Not only will Russell Crowe play the lead but Jennifer Connelly and Saoirse Ronan are both rumored to co-star. I’m sure you are familiar with Jennifer Connelly, but if the name Saoirse Ronan is not familiar to you yet, believe me it will be soon. Ronan played the leads in The Lovely Bones and Hannah and is now set to star in Stephanie Meyer’s (Twilight) new alien flick, The Host.

Coming back to Russell Crowe, he’s been out of the scene a bit since his powerful role in The Next Three Days with Elizabeth Banks in 2010, but now he’s got a slew of new projects in the works. The Man With The Iron Fists (2012) with Lucy Liu and Jamie Chung; Les Miserables (December 14, 2012) with Amanda Seyfried, Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen; Broken City (January 18, 2013) with Mark Wahlberg, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Alona Tal; Man of Steel (June 14, 2013) with Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Christopher Meloni and Ayelet Zurer; and Winter’s Tale (2013) with Will Smith.
