Phillip Phillips Wins American Idol!

The winner of American Idol was finally crowned last night, and the winner was… Phillip Phillips! Yaaay! I have been on team PP from day one and was absolutely thrilled when he took the Idol title. I know a lot of people were shocked when Joshua went home last week but to be honest with you, I didn’t like his voice at all, every time he opened his mouth it sounded like someone was being murdered.

I’ll definitely give it to Jessica that she has an amazing voice at 16, and I really enjoyed her performances last night, but there is still something about her tone that sounded screechy when she pushed it too hard. Phil Phillips on the other hand, really has an amazing and unique tone. He performed the first song of the night, “Have You Ever Seen The Rain”, with John Fogerty from Creedence Clearwater Revival – AMazing!!! One of my favorite songs of all time (Ever since the Sg-1 finale ;) ).

The AI finale overall was really fantastic… I mean they brought in Jennifer Holliday to do “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” with Jessica Sanchez, Reba McEntire and Skylar Laine sang “Turn on the Radio”, Neil Diamond performed ”Sweet Caroline” with the top 6 guys, Chaka Khan did “I’m Every Woman” with the top 6 girls, Jennifer Lopez performed two new songs with Wisin Yandel, Stephen Tyler brought Aerosmith, Rihanna debuted a new awesome song… I mean, it was just thrilling to see the show.

Now can we talk about the body suits for a second??? If you don’t have the body to wear one, DON’T DO IT! Fantasia Barrino didn’t just wear it, she ripped slits on the side of her legs to show just about everything under the kitchen sink. To sugar code it, it was pretty barf inducing. Chaka Khan also surprised in her own version of a body hugging suit. Not cute people, not cute at all.

Congratulations Phillip Phillips! There hasn’t been an artist like you on the scene in a long time! Cant wait for your first single :)
