They’re gorgeous, talented, and filthy rich, but are they too young? Maybe, maybe not. Child star Miley Cyrus and Australian hottie Liam Hemsworth met on the set of Nicholas Sparks’ movie, The Last Song, back in 2009 and had an immediate spark. They were pretty much inseparable from the get go, aside from a small break in 2010, and now 3 years later, Cyrus (19) and Hemsworth (22) are ready to tie the knot for all eternity.
According to People, Hemsworth proposed to Cyrus on May 31st with a 3.5-carat diamond ring from famed jeweler, Neil Lane. “I’m so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam,” Cyrus told the mag. Considering the fast that at the ages of 19 & 22, they are considered way too young to get married by most people’s standards, Cyrus and Hemsworth might actually have a shot.
Most marriages in Hollywood between adults don’t last, so what chance do they have? Well there’s two sides to this. On one hand, yes they are very young and still need to experience life before they tie themselves down to one person. At that age they are still changing and growing, and might be completely different people by the time they are in their 30′s. Especially with the crazy schedules actors have, it’s hard for any relationship to survive.
On the other hand, Miley at least, had been in the public eye since she was very young and maybe she already knows what she wants. Then again, Drew Barrymore who’s acted since she was five, got married at 19 and that relationship didn’t even last a year. Liam However, just joined the Hollywood craze and with his good looks, still has many years of blockbusters ahead of him.
And on the other other hand, they did break up for a while and then got back together, so they know what it’s like to be without each other, unlike most teenage romances. I don’t know, you can spin it any way you want and they’re still too young too get married. They should just stay engaged for a long time and see how that works for them. They do seem very much in love so I wish them and their ridiculously good looking future children the best.
