Magic Mike star Matthew McConaughey and his baby mama of two, Camila Alves, have finally tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at their nine-acre property, known as the Old Oak Estate, in Austin, Texas. The 42-year-old actor and the 30-year-old Brazilian model and handbag designer met back in 2006, and two kids later, finally got engaged over the holidays, when McConaughey popped the question on Christmas Day. “Just asked Camila to marry me, Merry Christmas,” McConaughey announced on his WhoSay page on December 25th, 2011.
Sources told E! News that the two plan to tie the knot this weekend, and when a party rental truck and a van full of orchids was seen driving into the McConaughey estate, it was confirmed. The wedding guests were all welcomed to a slumber party the night before, with several dozen two-person luxury tents set up in their back yard, each with its own air-conditioning unit, doormat, and patio. For that extra special touch.
According to ET, the wedding colors were yellow and orange with an “island beach meets Texas” theme. They had fire pits, Horseshoe pits, washer pits and a tether ball set up for the big day, and Estancia Churrascaria, a Brazilian steak house, catered the wedding. The menu included bacon wrapped chicken, Brazilian top and bottom steak, and pork sausages with cheese bread. Sounds Yum! The Sheriff’s deputies provided security and the couple’s 2-year-old daughter Vida, and 4-year-old son Levi, were both in attendance.
McConaughey’s new sexy flick, Magi Mike, is premiering June 29th (So going to see it!) but he is also working on several other projects. A TV series called True Detectives (2012) with Woodie Harrelson, a war movie called Thunder Run (2013) with Gerard Butler and Sam Worthington, and a real life drama about the HIV outbreak in in 1986 called The Dallas Buyer’s Club (2013) with Hilary Swank.
