Johnny Depp may have seemed like the ultimate bachelor, but for a very long time now, he has been very much the opposite of a bachelor. Depp met French singer, model and actress, Vanessa Paradis, in 1993 at a mutual friend’s house in France, and later in 1998 while filming Roman Polanski’s The Ninth Gate.
Yes, that makes their relationship about 14 years. The couple, though never married, do have two children together, daughter Lily-Rose Melody Depp (born May 27, 1999) and son John “Jack” Christopher Depp III (born April 9, 2002).
Depp made several statements regarding his children and the love he has for them, “You can’t plan the kind of deep love that results in children. Fatherhood was not a conscious decision. It was part of the wonderful ride I was on. It was destiny, kismet. All the math finally worked.” But for the past few months, rumors have been circling about the low key family, that they are living separate lives, making separate public appearances and even tied Johnny Depp to his Rum Diary costar, Amber Heard.
Even though Paradis recently tried to put out the rumors, claiming that they are “absolutely false”, they have finally given in and admitted that they are in fact amicably parting ways, asking everyone to “please respect their privacy and, more importantly, the privacy of their children.”
