What seemed like one of the strongest relationships in Hollywood, Supermodel Heidi Klum and singer Seal have decided to amicably split, claiming that they have simply grown apart. Klum and Seal began dating while she was pregnant with 53-year-old Flavio Briatore’s baby (the managing director of Renault’s Formula One team) in early 2004. Seal was there for the birth of Klum’s daughter, Leni, and she named him the father.
The unpredictable couple got engaged in December 2004 and were married on May 10, 2005 on a beach in Mexico. Since 2004, Klum gave birth to three children, Henry Gunther Ademola Dashtu Samuel (born September 12, 2005), Johan Riley Fyodor Taiwo Samuel (born November 22, 2006) and daughter Lou Sulola Samuel (born October 9, 2009). Soon after, in late December, Seal officially adopted Leni, Klum’s daughter from a previous relationship.
Klum and Seal renewed their vows to each other each and every year, which might have seemed romantic at the time, now just seems like the thing to do to reassure each other it’s not over. Unfortunately, three kids and seven years of marriage were not enough to keep them together. A rep for both sides confirms they have seperated, but divorce papers have not been filed yet.
“While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul searching we have decided to separate. We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart. This is an amicable process and protecting the well being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition. We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children’s sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy.”
