I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised at how many great dresses were working the red carpet at last night’s Oscars. And there really wasn’t anyone that looked really bad, just so-so fashion that was not really Oscars worthy. So lets start with the best dressed. It’s really hard to only pick one this year so let’s just say that Jessica Chastain, Giuliana Rancic, Kristen Wiig, Maria Menounos, Michelle Williams, Emma Stone, Berenice Bejo, Ellie Kemper, Melissa McCarthy, Maya Rudolph, Octavia Spencer, Milla Jovovich, Angelina Jolie, Cameron Diaz and Sandra Bullock all look fantastic!

Yesterday’s Grammy Awards were unique to say the least. After Whitney Houston’s unexpected departure on Saturday, many celebrities were grieving and mentioned Whitney’s name in every interview and every performance. However on the fashion side there were many ladies and men that dressed to impress. In my opinion, Taylor Swift in Zuhair Murad was hands down the best dressed bell of the ball.

If I say that there was a lot of Emmy Fashion on the red carpet and only a few really great dresses, you best believe that the worst dressed list is full to capacity. My worst dressed has to be Gwyneth Paltrow. I wouldn’t say she’s always dressed to the tee but a bare midriff??? She should know better. You may know her as Glee’s lean mean killing machine Sue Sylvester, but last night, Jane Lynch was the star of the Emmy’s. She didn’t make too many offensive jokes, she wasn’t rude and her welcome to the Emmys song was just fab. Lynch’s fashion was just as awesome, she changed her dress four times, and all four dresses were specially made for her for the Emmys by designer David Meister.

If you didn’t see the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards last night, you really missed out! I laughed, I cried, and I didn’t short hand it like Will & Grace. Jane Lynch was absolutely fantastic as the host, probably the best one I’ve seen, she was hilarious and didn’t offend anyone, except for maybe the cast of Entourage when she pointed out that they are the reason she is a lesbian.

 This year, The VMAs (and the network) got the biggest audience ever: 12.4 million! Considering that Lady Gaga went from being inside an egg to being a man and that Beyonce has announced she was pregnant with Jay-Z’s baby, I’m not surprised. In past years the MTV VMA’s have slowly been losing their audience since it’s the only time of year they actually focus on music and not the Jersey Shore. You know, sometimes it really pisses me off when celebrities who are quite capable of buying nice clothes and looking good, stop caring. I wish I had the bags of money and the body to be able to wear anything and look fabulous, while they are just wasting their opportunity. And even if they don’t have a fashion sense and don’t know how to dress, they can just hire someone to dress them. So sad.

I actually didn’t recognize this fashion face off until I heard about it on Fashion Police with the hilarious Joan Rivers, so the credit for this fashion find goes to them. I did stare at that dress during the red carpet event wondering where I’ve seen it before but did not come to any conclusions.
