Born and raised in the US of A, I’ve always regarded this the greatest country in the word, even though I’ve never been able to compare it against another. Born and raised, without even a passport to my name, I can’t imagine living anywhere else. One day, I very much wish to see the world and all it has to offer but based on the decisions the sporting world has made against the US in the last few months, I might decide not to announce I’m an American tourist.
Setting aside political opinions and whether or not you feel the wars [...]

When you’re mean and your green you’re usually Shrek but when the discussion is about the 2010 NCAA tournament, you have to think North Texas. Sun-Belt regular season and conference champion, the Mean Green will be taking on the Big-12 Kansas State Wildcats in Oklahoma City. Kansas State was a surprise team in the Big-12, not only making the NCAA tournament but doing it by dominating teams outside of their own state both in and out of conference. Frank Martin was not expected to make an impact as fast as he did but the head coach of the Wildcats has [...]

In the second slate of games on Thursday afternoon, the fourth seeded Vanderbilt Commodores and thirteenth seeded Murray State Racers play no where near each others home towns. With the game in San Jose CA, expect a small number of Vandy and Murray supporters but a large number of upset minded people. According to Vegas, Murray State is only a 3 point underdog, making them a fan favorite for a first round upset. Rule of thumb always seems to be if the public loves the underdog, go with the favorite but that may be a very unwise move. Murray State [...]

The first official game of the 2010 NCAA Men’s College Basketball tournament pits the fifth seeded BYU Cougars against the 10th seeded Florida Gators. Some of you might be wondering how a team like BYU was ranked seventh and even more mind-boggling is that Florida, a team that had no business making the tournament, received a 10 seed. Is this game as close as the seeds would lead you to believe?
(7) BYU Cougars (29-5) vs. (10) Florida Gators (21-12)
Game Time 12:20 ET Thursday, March 18th 2010
In this bloggers opinion, Brigham Young has had the most underrated team in college basketball [...]

Who’s excited for the 2010 NCAA tournament? If you’re hand isn’t raised high in the air right now, you are no friend of mine. Over the next few weeks we will cover every single game that this tournament has to offer. That means sixty four previews, most of which will come in the first four days of the tournament. I can feel the carpel tunnel coming!
We start with the Tuesday night play in game between the 16th seeded Winthrop Eagles and the 16th seeded Arkansas Pine-Bluff Golden Lions.

A perennial powerhouse from the Big East meets an unknown star from the Northeast conference when the Villanova Wildcats take on the Robert Morris Colonials. Villanova faltered toward the end of the season, losing five of their last seven games while Robert Morris won five of their last seven, including the NEC conference tournament. With the game being played in Providence, Rhode Island, Villanova should have a high number of fans in attendance and that’s just another reason why Robert Morris will stand little chance in this matchup.

Just a few weeks ago, Notre Dame had little to no chance in making the final 65. With the loss of their big man, Luke Harangody, the Irish were coming off of a three game losing streak and it appeared that streak would continue to grow. Somehow, someway, Notre Dame finished the regular season on a four game winning streak and made a deep run in the Big East tournament. Rewarded with a six seed, the Fighting Irish will square off against the Monarchs of Old Dominion in the first round.

If you’re just tuning in, the Mississippi State Bulldogs are lobbying Congress to change the value of a minute to 59.9 seconds instead of 60. If it goes anything like the SEC championship game earlier today, MS State will once again, come up empty.
The poor Bulldogs were literally one-tenth of a second away from securing their second consecutive SEC tournament championship, when DeMarcus Cousins put back a John Wall miss that tied the game as time expired. You could tell that after that shot, Mississippi State had less than a 0% chance of pulling the game out in OT as [...]

The orange, white and blue of the Netherlands may be fielding their strongest team to date for the 2010 World Cup and if the qualification stage was any indication, Holland should breeze through the group stage. Paired with Denmark, Japan and Cameroon, the Dutch are favored to win the group and my personal dark-horse to advance to the semifinals of the competition.
Previous World Cup’s have not been very kind to the Netherlands and the tradition of world-class football is not nearly what it is for some of the other high-profile teams competing. Much to my surprise (I’m only 25), Holland [...]

Superbowl ring that is . For those of you who just crawled out from under a rock, Superbowl XLIV (44) was played in Miami last night. Unlike back in the day, the Superbowl is no longer just a football game, it is also a day when all the hottest celebrities get together and party till the sun comes up.
This year the battle of the Superbowl was not just between the New Orléans Saints and the Indianapolis Colts… the real fight was between Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Kim Kardashian (Who’s dating New Orléans Saint Reggie Bush) and The [...]
