Celebrity Lookalikes: Russell Crowe and Benjamin McKenzie

These two actors may look alike on the surface but when it comes to the details of their lives, they couldn’t be more different. So lets start with their similarities: teeth, lips, noses, shape of their eyes and even their manly eyebrows if you squint a little, and… that’s about it.

Their differences? Where do I begin! They are from two different parts of the world, Crowe is 15 years older then McKenzie, Crowe has made at least 12 successful films, while McKenzie has been in a few known Television series.

Russell Crowe has dated a few very famous ladies and is now married. Ben McKenzie on the other hand has dated one of the hottest young actresses but that’s about it. Guess he just doesn’t have as much game as good ole Crowe. That’s ok, it probably comes with age.

As for right now, Russell just completed a movie called The Next Three Days with Elizabeth Banks, Lian Neeson and Olivia Wilde, while Benjamin is starring in an NBC police drama called Southland. The show actually was canceled after it’s first season, bought by TNT who ordered 7 new episodes and then picked up again for another 10 episodes which will air in January 2011.

Kate Beckinsale and Rhona Mitra not only look alike, they are actually pretty similar in their personal lives as well. Both Beckinsale and Mitra were born in England in the 70′s and are only three years apart from each other. In fact, Beckinsale was born in 1973 and is now 36 (wow, she looks much younger) and Mitra was born in 1976 and is now 33. Both actresses are the same height, have the same hair color and length, same eye color and of course same bone strucure.

Beckinsale and Mitra also followed the same film path for the most part and those paths have crossed for Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. Rhona Mitra played Sonja, the daughter of vampire ruler Viktor who executed her when she fell in love and was impregnated by a Lycan. Kate Beckinsale played a young girl who was “saved” by Viktor after he slaughtered her family and turned her into a vampire because she reminded him so much of his daughter Sonja.

Mitra might not have been as famous as Beckinsale in past years but she is definitely doing her part to catch up by guest starring in numerous TV shows like Party of Five, The Practice, Boston Legal, Nip/Tuck, Stargate Universe and the newest ABC vampire series, The Gates. Speaking of vampires, both Mitra and Beckinsale have played vampires but only Beckinsale played a vampire hunter in Van Helsing. These two leading ladies may look the same, but underneath it all, they are like water and oil. First lets start with the similarities: Newton and Saldana are both in their 30′s, both over 5 feet, both born in the 70′s, both look African-American but in reality, they are both far from it.

Thandie was born Thandiwe Adjewa Newton in London, to a Zimbabwean Shona Princess and health care worker and an English laboratory technician and artist. Zoe on the other hand, was born Zoe Yadira Zaldana Nazario in New Jersey (Of all places) to a Dominican father and a Puerto Rican mother.

Even though Thandie is 6 years older than Zoe and started acting almost 10 years before her, their movie careers are very similar. Newton did 26 movies and Saldana did 23 movies and 3 TV shows, that’s a good catch up considering Newton had a 10 year start.

On the personal level, they are both in long-term relationship but have no kids. You’d think Thandie will start popping them out soon, after all she has been married for 13 years and will be hitting 40 in a few years.

It has always been pretty amazing to me how two people that were born years apart, in different parts of the globe to different nationalities, can look so much alike.

This time I would like to point out two young ladies from different areas of the entertainment business. America Ferrera is an actress, while Jordin Sparks is a singer. I know they look like identical twins, or at least sisters, but they are actually very different. America is five years older than Jordin but Jordin is much much taller (Pretty much taller than most women actually).

America is known for playing an ugly chick who works at a fashion magazine and Jordin is known for calling 95% of the female population sluts. I know what you’re thinking… “Oh know she didn’t”… That’s right, oh yes she did. I know… I know… everyone already caught on to the story, but I just couldn’t do a celebrity lookalikes section and not include these two Siamese twins. Now let’s go over the facts, The girls are both in their 20′s, same height, same color eyes, same haircut, same style, both live in L.A., both are singers /songwriters…ugh I’m out of breath. It’s a good thing that Katy Perry is not actresses, cause then we would have a serious problem on our hands.

Fun Fact – Katy Perry’s real name is Katy Hudson… Zooey Deschanel starred in Almost Famous with Kate Hudson.

Ok, so at first I thought that Isla Fisher did both Wedding Crashers and Enchanted. Little did I know, that there are two pretty red heads taking Hollywood by storm at the same damn time. Though they look about 90% alike, they are actually two completely different ladies.

First, lets look at the facts. Even though they were born on completely opposite sides of the world, they are both red heads, they are in their 30′s, both engaged, have one child (Kind of) and they both like strapless green dresses. But who can blame them, red heads do look good in green.

On the other hand hand, Amy Adams seems to to take more serious roles while Isla Fisher is more of a comedy kinda girl. Wedding Crashers… common, it was priceless. Even though Amy is always one step ahead of Isla in terms of age and height, Isla did have her baby first while Amy is still expecting.

Looks like Isla took a little break from acting after Confessions of a Shopaholic to take care of her two year old daughter and even though Amy is about to pop in a couple of months, she has a romantic comedy coming out called a Leap Year.
