You didn’t think I would really let the Oscars rest without announcing the worst dressed did you? Well, I’m not. I did want to watch the Fashion police before I made my final decision to see if we agree but unfortunately we do not. Don’t get me wrong, their worst dressed is on my list as well (Ahm.. Charlize Theron) but I don’t think that she was the worst of the worst. So let’s get down to business and start going down the line:
Sarah Jessica Parker, I’m sorry honey but you look like a tampon. And not just a regular tampon, one of those silky gentle glide ones. Diane Kruger totally missed the target this time, and by target I mean chicken coup. Vera Farmiga, you may have starred aside one of Hollywood’s leading men, but didn’t stop you from wrapping a giant fuchsia table cloth around you did it. Oh Zoe Saldana in Givenchy couture, you make me so sad. I really really like you but you look like giant purple piniata full of sparkles and rainbows. Maggie Gyllenhaal is getting ready to eat some sushi and Charlize Theron got two cinnabuns on her boobies (Thanks for that Joan).
Here’s another thing I wanted to mention. Dear celebrities, please make sure you call each other and verify what everyone’s wearing before you show up looking like this… Thank you.
I really really like Amanda Seyfried (Mostly due to Dear John, thank you for making me cry my eyes out) but both her and Jennifer Lopez (Which by the way was a best dressed nominee on Fashion Police) looked like they were wearing that cellophane stuff, you know the stuff you wrap your valuables in when you move. Oh and Mariah Carey and Gabourey Sidibe. It’s not that they looked bad, it’s just that they didn’t look that great. Granted Gaby looks the best she has ever looked in her porn “money dress” but I could definitely go without Mariah’s ‘Picked it at up at Ross on my way here’ dress. You’re not that skinny any more girl, deal with it.
As I mentioned in The Grammy Awards Best Dressed, The Grammy’s are definitely all about fun. Fun outfits, fun mood and fun performances. And well the stars definitely delivered. The first “lady” we are going to talk about is of course Lady Gaga. One thing she does well, is wear the craziest shit I have ever seen. I personally really don’t like her but she makes excellent material when it’s time for my worse dressed posts. Lady Gaga never disappoints, and that is why she appears not once, not twice, but three times on my crazy list. According to Miss Gaga all of her outfits were custom-made just for her by Armani Privé.
The next tasteless lady is the lovely Ciara in a black cobweb Givenchy dress, our little pop princess, Britney Spears, in a sheer lace Dolce & Gabbana dress over a black bodysuit which so did not compliment her new hot bod. Now what can you say about Pink, she’s a rock star, even though her performance was absolutely unbelievable, her outfit definitely could have been a little less see-through.
Fergie definitely brought the right arm candy to the Grammy’s (Ahm… hubby Josh Duhamel) but not the right outfit to perform in. Ok, i get it… she was going for the whole futuristic feel for her space cadet performance with The Black Eyed Peas, but the gladiator jock strap was definitely pushing it.
Now I don’t know if I’m just old-fashioned, or I am actually conscious of what I look like, but pretty girls should have long pretty hair. Period. I’m sorry but I just don’t think that girls with short hair are very attractive. Especially when it’s boy hair or weird Mohawks. First of all lets talk about Pink, she’ is a rock-star and she gets a free pass because well she’s Pink. Don’t get me wrong, I still think that she could look so much prettier with pretty long blond hair but hey what can you do.
Rihanna, Rihanna, Rihanna… what is going through your head??? I understand that you’re trying to do the whole R&B / Rock&Roll thing, but common. You used to be so pretty!!! Rihanna also started trying this Couture look, and it is sooo not working for her. Now what can you say about Mary J Blige, this woman has been in the business for so long and has had so many different hair styles, that I’m hoping this is just a phase she is going through and that the Fro-Hawk is not here to stay.
In the picture above you can see Mary J Blige, Pink and Rihanna (In that order) as they arrived at the 2010 Grammy Awards last night in Los Angeles. And the questions is… who wore the blond Fro-Hawk best?
This year’s Screen Actors Guild Awards had a lot of colorful surprises, but also some unexpected disasters! Nicole Kidman, who normally looks very classy, looked like a crazy gypsy lady in an embroidered Oscar de la Renta gown and Fred Leighton jewelry, including a 19th-century gold necklace and Indian enamel bracelets. Even though Julianna Margulies won Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series for The Good Wife, she didn’t even come close to getting her outfit right. Margulies wore an 80′s suede type fabric with a seat-belt on her shoulder.
Next up we have The United States of Tara‘s Toni Collette, in a collection of window curtains sown together. Justin Timberlake was probably trying to show his funky personality but came out looking like Mr. Bean. Now I love Meryl Streep, but she really messed up with her couch upholstery dress and a leather belt. Last but not least we have Patricia Arquette, who won worst dressed on The SAG Awards Fashion Police with Joan Rivers, Khloe Kardashian, Julianna Rancic and Jay Manuel from America’s Next Top Model.
Though “Poker Face” happens to be one of Mr. Smith’s favorite songs, I am so not a fan of Lady Gaga. Every time a song comes out I can tolerate it for about 2 days and then I’m just extremely annoyed. Some may think her revolutionary fashion style is cool but I just think she’s crazy… you gotta be to come up with these outfits. Don’t mean to trash her but common…
Turns out I may be the only one who feels this way, Marc Jacobs will honor Lady Gaga Monday night with the Stylemaker Award at the 13th annual Accessories Council Excellence Awards. Crazy ain’t it.
Sometimes I just don’t get it. Celebrities have the money to look absolutely fantastic and they keep F#@*ing it up! The Olsen twins are what like 21 ? Why do they feel the need to dress like they are 85… WHY? Ann Hathaway who always looks fantastic, did not make us proud with that outfit. Eliza Dushku who I have loved since the vampire days looks like she was dressed by the Olsen twins. And Paula Abdul… well I don’t think anyone is surprised.
I have to be honest on this, I was not impressed at all! The dominant colors of the evening were definitely red and white (And a few blues here and there), mostly very boring. Lets start with the misses… I would say the worst appearance of the show was by Phoebe Price, she’s had a few guest appearances on TV shows here and there but nothing exciting. Maybe that is why she showed up at the Emmys wearing that nightmare of a mermaid meets wicked witch dress, so she can get some attention. Padma Lakshmi, the host of Top Chef, was quite a disappointment as well. The skin tight purple number with the flowers on the side was not very flattering, lets face it, she’s not that young anymore and a few unflattering body parts were kind of sticking out.
Another unpleasant surprise was Mila Kunis, her crazy ballerina dress was not fit for the Emmys. Here’s a funny question,how old is Hayden Panettiere ? I could have sworn she was only 20 years old, yet she acts and dresses like she’s 50. Her boring red J Mendel dress and her grandma up-do definitely did not present a girl of her age. Did you see Sarah Silverman‘s dress? why in the world would a girl want to wear such an unflattering dress? I always thought she was on the skinny side but the blue dress with the built in love handles made her look quite huge, I wonder what she’s hiding… a baby bump maybe?
Who else sucked? Mary Louis Parker (From Weeds) with the bow that was bigger then the dress itself, Shar Jackson and Kyra Sedgwick looked like they came from a shopping spree at the local Kmart, Jane Krakowski‘s dress was completely shapeless and unflattering and Chloe Sevigny was apparently wearing her bed sheet. It seems that Jumpsuits are the latest trend because all the celebrities are wearing them… would you? I wouldn’t. Personally, I’m a very simple girl, I like solid colors, (even though I might fall in love with a print once in a blue moon) Jeans and a T, or a little black dress.
Is it a question of style ? Absolutely not. I’m just as stylish as the next girl but there’s just something about these jumpsuits that screams “I’m trying too hard”. Jumpsuits might have been the fad in the 80′s, which makes sense. Back then everyone was trying too hard.
And you know what, that’s what I hate about fashion. There is always some new craze coming out. All stores get there own spin on it because no one wants to be the only store that doesn’t carry the latest trends. The more celebrities wear it, the more stores manufacture it and the more innocent fashionistas and of course teenagers give in to the pressure.
I’m sure I’m not alone in my opinion, I’m sure that there are more revolutionists like me. So my question today is, do you love them or hate them? Leave a comment and speak out.
So here’s something I noticed…Rihanna’s fashion sense… or rather lack their of!!!
I don’t know if she actually likes what she’s wearing, if she needs to fire her fashion consultant or Chris Brown beat her up so badly that she became fabric blind. What is going on people??? I used to like Rihanna but I cannot respect a public appearance gone wrong.
For her first public appearance in a few months, Rihanna showed up at the 2009 Met Costume Institute Gala with a puffed up sleeve tuxedo with matching Capri pants by Dolce & Gabbana, accessorized with Beeteljuice hair.
Rihanna continued her fashion faux-pas tour at the Third Annual DKMS Linked Against Leukemia Benefit. Rihanna decides to blow everyone away with a back to the future silvery pink top with a matching skirt and a very high lace up boot, all by Louis Vuitton. Looks like she missed the Star-Trek auditions by a few years.
