It’s what we’ve all been waiting for! Bones is coming back to FOX on Monday, April 2nd at 8/9c, yes I said Monday, not Thursday, which has been a regular spot for the show for… I believe ever. So is Bones scared the move to Monday will cost them some ratings? “I know we’re supposed to be so upset, but we’ve always wanted to be with House and we’re a good match with House. So, we’re up for it.” the show’s creator, Hart Hanson, told tvline.com.
The most thrilling TV moment that I know everyone is looking forward to, is the birth of Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan’s daughter. According to tvline, the magical episode “started in the midst of a prison riot and ended in a… well, not a hospital” the birth actually takes place in a horse stable! Not that Emily Deschanel (Temperance Brennan) was surprised, she could see her character “going to some tribe and having some ritual with some women around her.”
So will the new baby affect the show? “It’s still Bones,” said executive producer Stephen Nathan. “We’re not gonna do Parenthood. There’s still going to be someone dead and something revolting… but this baby informs their lives in a completely different way. The show takes a very different turn from a character point of view.” As for the name of their bundle of joy, the hint is: She is named after two very special women in Brennan’s life. So we have her mother’s real name – Ruth, the assumed identity her mother took – Christine, and her best friend – Angela. Take your pick!
Another surprising slip was regarding the future of Bones, “In many ways, Bones is Fox’s most successful hour-long scripted drama. So I’m very confident we’ll be back for Seasons 8 and 9.” said Hanson at PaleyFest 2012 Thursday night, where attendees were treated to an exclusive screening of the show’s April 2 spring premiere.
