Jessica Sanchez may have ended up as the runner up to American Idol winner Phillip Phillips, but she has no plans to leave FOX any time soon. Sources confirmed to E! News that Sanchez is currently in talks with Glee producers to join the fourth season as a brand new character. Given that she is only 16 years old, and would be the youngest actor on the set (finally someone who is actually in high-school playing a high-schooler), Sanchez would come in as a freshman, half way through the season.
The deal is not finalized yet, but negotiations are happening for Jessica to appear in multiple episodes, as soon as she wraps up the American Idol summer tour. Sanchez will be joining previously announced guest stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Hudson, including Glee’s original characters Rachel (Lea Michele), Finn (Cory Monteith), Santana (Naya Rivera), and Brittany (Heather Morris), among others.
